Zika Q&A

Zika virus is transmitted by Aedes species mosquitoes, notably Aedes aegypti. Aedes aegypti is an invasive species of mosquito recently first discovered in Northern California.  Over the last year, aegypti has been discovered in Southern California, and within the last few months of 2015, found in Montclair.  It is best to assume that this mosquito could be anywhere in our District, and take precautions against mosquito bites and breeding.
